Hello all Have you ever been to Migori, Kenya? I've been north to Marsabit, in Nairobi, Mombasa, Thika, Mt Kenya but not this region. Its not far from Masai Mara. We will be there in July (dry season). Is it cool weather in July? What is the topography like? Is bottled water available? Thanks Laurie-Ann
All transport is already arranged and pre paid. We are staying with locals. I only needed the answers concerning weather, topography and water. Thanks.

Hi I've been in Migori for 6 weeks now. It's a lovely town and busy. July is Winter here but the temp is cold to Kenyans but not to Europeans. It should be dry but you can never tell. There's bottled water everywhere. It's hilly so tv and radio reception is bad, so is communication and internet. We may bump into each other, so welcome. It'll be nice to not be one of the few whites who gets stared at.

Thanks Laurie. I hope I do bump into you! I'll be at the Migori Mission Center in the Suna district - and staying with pastor John Okinda and his wife Pamela. When I was with the Kikuyu people they couldn't pronounce the Laurie part of my name, and so I went by "Ann" instead of Laurie-Ann. Double names can be confusing, so I will be willing to be called Laurie or Ann by the locals. We'll be arriving in Migori on Friday July 8th (will be picked up from Kisumu) and returning to Nairobi very, very early on Monday July 18. There will also be two other Canadian girls coming to Migori in early June - Meaghan and Alanna. So you won't be the only mzungu around for locals to be curious about. :) Is it true that they don't have a bank in Migori town??? Thanks L-A
