hi! im spanish and i have just been, close Zwolle, almost 2 months. i dnt know amsterdam and i would like to visit this weekend. someone want to go and share time with me???
I am visiting Volendam with friends in November for a long weekend celebration. Could anybody tell me what to expect by way of prices for a nice meal (not 5 star, just somewhere clean and tidy), how much is a beer, bottle of wine, coffee etc etc...
Any advice on bars and restaurants would be good too
Many thanks in advance,
I have offered to help someone I know ('J') get information on disability and travel in the Netherlands.
J has a combination of learning disabilities (moderate autism and intellectual impairment) and physical disability (minor problems with muscular coordination on his left-side). He is literate, numerate and mobile, i.e. he can walk reasonably comfortably. He receives the appropriate disability benefits in the UK, and receives his daily one-to-one care via a contracted carer ('R') who is now also his friend.
J and R are off on holiday to the Netherlands, to Amsterdam. I commented that if they tired of Amsterdam, in my experience it was easy go on excursions round the Netherlands by train. They asked me 'Any tips?'. So my question(s): are there any discounts/concessions on public transport for (tourist) travellers with disabilities? or any discounts for the carers escorting disabled travellers? If anyone in the Netherlands can give me any relevant information, tips or suggestions, that I could to pass on to J and R, it would be much appreciated. I could not find any info on the 'obvious' websites to check.
I am flying KLM from Sweden to Amsterdam and connecting with Aerlingus.
Aerlingus don't print online boarding passes for Amsterdam so I have to go to check-in.
I arrive at 1900hrs and departure is at 2030.
I only have hand luggage.
Is there enough time.
I would like to go to Kinderdijk on Monday, Oct 13. Is the best way taking the waterbus from Erasmus Bridge, then taking the Triangle Ferry? I am staying at Emma Hotel on Nieuwe Binnenweg.
Is it easy to reverse this same transportation when I am finished at Kinderdijk? Any help would be very appreciated.
Thank you very much,
Joyce from Canada
I will be visiting the Netherlands and will probably be staying for 3 months. I am looking for reliable travel medical insurance to cover me during my stay in the Netherlands. I have found a company in the Netherlands, called OOM Verzekeringen that offers Medical Insurance for Schengen Visitors. Does anyone know anything about them? Are they reliable?
