First time visiting the states next year with my wife and want some suggestions for places to stay for a week. Really dont want to spend more than $150 a night.
We wont have a car, and want somewhere close to beach, shopping and nightlife if possible. nightlife isnt so important as long as there are some decent places to eat/drink. Shopping for clothes and gadgets (for me). Beach , not bothered but must be clean and not too crowded.
I'm from Brazil, and I and my girlfriend will be visiting Orlando for New Year's Eve. We've never been to Orlando, Miami or Florida.
We just got an idea to grab a couple of tickets for a Miami Dolphins game starting at 1:00pm on December 29th, so we're planning to drive from Orlando early in the morning, watch the game, stay a while in Miami and go back to Orlando at night.
We don't know anything about the traffic in this region, especially close to New Year's Eve, so my question is: is it possible for this plan to go wrong, due to very heavy traffic, closed roads or things like that?
I'm kinda worried because here in Brazil, on some holidays, a trip that normally takes 3 hours could easily turn into a 12 hour nightmare...
arriving in Miami from UK in March and would like to stay for 3 nights before going on a music cruise, (moody blues) would anyone be able to recommend a hotel perhaps with either a shuttle from the airport or one to the port please?
Plan to be in the Miami area with a car for a weekend in the beginning of February... want to see South Beach (walk, shop, dinner?) and also the Everglades (Shark Valley) and then fly out on Sunday. Looking for a reasonably priced hotel (no more than about $200), nice for mature adults, in safe area. Not necessarily at the airport since I have a car to return there.
How far are the airport hotels from the beaches, nightlife, and cruise port? best cheapest way to stay at the cheaper priced "airport" hotels, but still be able to go to town for nightlife, food, touristy stuff... :)
I will be stopping over in Miami Next Saturday 9-November en-route to Santiago.
Any suggestions what can be done in this time? (6-hour layover)
(we will be returning to Miami a few weeks later so will do main site seeing etc then).
I have done some research and seen Dolphin Mall is nearby for some shopping, and Sawgrass Mills are these worth a visit to kill some time during our 6-hour layover?
Maybe a nice place to go for some nice food and have a relax?
Any other cool suggestions will be welcomed.
Folks, At a conference in Orlando in late January but plan to drive south for the weekend. Can this work? Leave Orlando Fri AM, drive to somewhere near Miami Beach, spend Fri afternoon and evening in South Beach, spend Saturday AM on Shark Valley Tram Tour, Sat evening back to South Beach and fly home Sunday from Miami. Is this workable?? Hotel recommendations under $200/night? Shall we stay near airport? Thanks.
restaurant ($$$) recommendations around the new casablanca on the ocean hotel near 63rd street (cuban or italian)
I'm 19 years old and want to go out on new years eve in Miami with my friends. We are from Germany.

Planning on flying to Miami in late October and boarding a cruise the next day. Where should we stay?
We only have 1 Saturday evening stay. Arriving at airport then boarding a cruise on Sunday at noon. What part of town should we stay for a little shopping, nice dinner, see Miami for 1st time? shopping district or beach?
What is a good hotel in Miami, FL that offers airport and Port of Miami shuttle service?
I am flying from Los Angeles to Miami, then Miami to Barcelona. The two flights are both on American Airlines. I have a two hour layover in Miami. Will my bags be checked the whole way through? Or will I have to pick them up and re check in? Is two hours for this connection enough?
Coming over with three other english lads.. just wondering if anyone is out the same time?
I have a two part ?
1. What's the easiest & fastest way from Miami Airport to go to Art Deco area?
2. And whats the easiest & fastest way from art deco area to the Aventura Mall?
Hi! Going to be in Miami and Fort Lauderdale with my husband and 2 kids, April 7-11th. Looking for ideas for fun/unique things to do with little kids other than beach/pool that would be appropriate for a 3 year old. thanks!
I'm going to be flying into Miami in January on a Friday night pre cruise (landing 8:15pm), driving to Ft. Lauderdale to spend the night, hubby will do a swim in the morning and then we have all day Saturday and until about noon on Sunday to do something, both nights are booked and prepaid in Ft. Lauderdale.
I think we will do a short Everglades tour on the day we return from the cruise, booked through the cruise line, but I thought Miami might be an enjoyable place to spend a day pre cruise. I enjoy looking at architecture and would love to try some Cuban food while there. I haven't done a lot of research but I will try to find some sample one day itineraries but 1st the pesky dull questions
1) do I need to get a Sun Pass with my rental car? It's7.99 per day with Dollar which is a lot less than the other rental agencies for a Miami pickup, FLL dropoff. I'm guessing we will be driving to and from Miami, once on Friday at about 9 pm, twice on Saturday in the late morning and probably evening.
2) if we can avoid toll roads without traffic headaches, are the toll roads clearly marked before you get on them? And if you do end up on one by accident, is there a way to pay the toll within a period of time like in Chicago where there's a number to call?
3) good Cuban restaurant in Miami or Ft. Lauderdale or en route?
4) parking, is Miami a "park and leave the car" destination or a "drive and find a spot" destination?
Hello, I am planning my first trip to Miami and am in need of some assistance. If anyone has rented out a house in the Miami or south beach area, and was happy with your rental please let me know some of the info. I'm looking for 4 bed rooms and prefer to be on the beach. If not on the beach the close to it. Thank you
Flight arrives at MIA at 1:30 am. mid Dec. Suggestions for 3 to get to the Newport Beachside Hotel at that hour??
I am going to visit Miami on 16OCT for 1 week. Planning 2 days on beach, 3 days take cruise to Bahamas and 1 day shopping at Sawgrass Mills. The hotel I have booked for first two days is Newport Beachside, which is located in Sunny Isles Beach. I would like to know any interesting places near the hotel, shopping or food. Or I have to spend whole days on beach.
Hi, we have booked our tickets to La Paz on AA. We will arrive at around 1:30pm and our connecting flight will not leave till around 11:30pm. We are pre cleared in Canada and should only have carry on bags, so we should be able to get out pretty quickly. We are either leaving our carry on at the left luggage and take the bus or if we can get a deal, rent a car. Do you have any suggestions on how we can kill our time? We would like to walk around and try some Cuban food if possible. I think everglades might be typo far though.
Another thing is that we both have nexus, so in theory should not need as long to go through customs again but if any one have real life examples, please share.
I will be going from an American Airlines flight in Terminal D to an IBC Airlines flight in Terminal J. I am most concerned about the time that it will take for my return trip, going through customs.
Would anyone care to walk me through the process of going through MIA customs from Term J and transit to Term D? Would you also make a time estimate?
Can anyone recommend a good budget hotel in the heart of Miami where most of the things are at walking distance ?
We are there for just one night without car and want see the major attractions of Miami very quickly.
I'll be in Miami Aug 7-13, and need some suggestions for activities people!

I will have a 5 hour layover in Miami on Aug. 13th. Coming from Peru, and pursuing to Canada.
Assuming I will have to get my luggage and clear customs, do I have time to get out of the airport and do/see anything?
Is the airport far from the city? How much time to get to the city and what is the best/cheapest way??
Any suggestions?? or am I stuck to wait in the airport.
Thanks for your help, as always..
