Nightlife in Miami

Hi all, heading to Miami Beach in 3 weeks and would like some advice on nightlife there, how to dress, places to go, i'm straight but male best friend is not and was wondering if there is somewhere to go dancing that would suit both of us? also, how is the weather out there?
