I've been reading about the Bazar de Antiguedades in Zona Rosa and it's accompanying "open air" market I think is called "TIANGUIS". Does anyone know where the open air section is? Is it within the Bazar building, outside of it or elsewhere?
We are set to be in mex city fri 11/22, leaving the AM of thurs 11/28 and will stay the entire time in the Zocolo area. General plans/sights to hit are Teotichlan, Guadalupe basilica, Coyacan, Xochimilco, and Condesa. Restaurants I am considering in and around these areas are Contramar, Pujol, El Califa, Mero Toro, and the assorted markets/streetfood during the day. Any suggestions would be great. I do not plan to have a car.
if I want to travel to Mexico with my boyfriend, what would be the most romantic place that can we know?
We are planning a trip to Mexico City (we live in Brazil) and are wondering about shopping. We are mostly interested in electronics and clothes. We could fly via Florida to do our shopping there. This would be quite expensive in fares. So I am wondering if the goods for sale in Mexico are similar in price, quality and choice as in the USA.
I am interested in watching in bull fighting in Mexico City. I will be in the city on month of November, anyone that can recommend a place and the the timing?
I'm going to Mexico City in a month and plan to hit several outdoor markets. I'm trying to avoid wandering aimlessly around and losing a whole lot of time so I have several questions I was hoping to get answers to.
First off, I'll be looking for the usual tourist stuff like antiques and reproductions (reasonably priced only), hand forged iron hardware, old architectural pieces (small enough to fit in a suitcase) and typical religious items (retablo, santos, etc..). I planned on going to the Mercado Lagunilla, Mercado Ciudadela, Mercado Insurgentes, Bazar de Antiguedades and the San Jacinto.
1. I know the Lagunilla market is quite large so can anyone tell me what section I would find what I am looking for? Perhaps a landmark or the cross streets of where I should start?
2. Are the other markets I planned on visiting easy to navigate? If not, can you offer any tips?
3. This may be a stupid question but the Ciudadela market is in the Plaza de La Ciudadela roughly a 1/2 hr walk from Lagunilla, correct?
4. If you have an opinion of the markets I mentioned in reference to what I'm interested in shopping for, I would love to hear what you have to say.
Thanks much in advance.
I am wondering if anyone could please help me figure out where to stay in Mexico City. I heard that there was a traffic problem recently. Here are my requirements.
1. In an area where the GrayLine tour can pick me up (grayline.com/tours/mexico-ci... says "Mexico City Area Hotels").
2. The area is safe.
3. To avoid the traffic problem.
Initially I was thinking about Zocalo. But that seems to be the center of the protests.
I'm going from Mexico DF to Guanajuato - I see Primera Plus and ETN as my two options, ETN slightly more expensive (and actually about 20 minutes longer). Any recommendations for one over the other?
I have a flight arriving to TLC at 11:30pm. How long and how much would a taxi be from there to the Zocalo area? Is it easy/safe to find taxis there that late?
Or would I be better off flying into MEX? It's a little more expensive (about $50) but seems like a much bigger, safer airport that late?
Does anyone know a great, clean, good service spa in Mexico City?

I am planning on traveling to Mexico city on the second half of July. I want to be able to tour around but I saw that it is a rainy month. How rainy is it? and are there specific times of day when it rains? Also does the rain go on for a long time? is it heavy rain?
I'm planning on a trip to Toluca Mx. After all of the outrage about cartels be headings etc my mom is absolutely terrified and against me going. I'm a 21 year old american blonde hair blue eyed female. I am going to be staying with my fiance and his family. What should I know about safety and how much should I worry. Planning on going late June for 2 - 2 1/2 weeks.
Could you recommend any good food courts in Mexico City? We will be staying in Zona Rosa/Reforma, so advice on food courts/shopping malls around that area would be much appreciated.
Thank you all in advance.
necesito factura de una nota de restaurante
I have been in Mexico City before & have the luxury of staying in Polanco, Condessa & Zona Rosa, but this time I am showing the city to a few friends with a tight budget. Should we stay in a hotel near the Zocolo or Centro Historico? Any recommendations of the hotel? I have been told Holiday Inn at the Zocolo. Have you heard of Hotel Casa Blanca? Thank you!

I'll be visiting Mexico City and Manzanillo, Colima between 20DEC - 03JAN and would like to hear if anybody can recommend any unique or particular events going on during this time in Mexico City or Manzanillo? I'm thinking about Christmas markets, shows, foods, cultural events or any other fun stuff. I've been to Mexico City before and have done some of the regular tourist stuff, but would like to see really special and unique places and events which maybe only the locals tend to go to. Any tips, suggestions, links, etc are appreciated :)

Dear all, visiting Mexico city early Oct with 2 friends. 2 days in Mexico city and 5 days nearby. Would you recommend rental car or bus or group tour to Oaxaca? What should not be missed during our 7 days in the area of Mexico city? I know it's a very short trip... any suggestions would help! Thanks!!!
I will be in Mexico City for 4 days in June and I would like to take a food tour to try culinary delights that I wouldn't normally know about otherwise. Can anyone recommend any tours?
Is there a theatre industry in Mexico and if so, what is there on offer for English speaking audiences? Besides Frida Kahlo, what other art or renowned artists does Mexico have to offer?
Because we are in a very narrow budget, we came across this particular hotel...We are thinking of booking at this budget hotel, EL EJECUTIVE, located at Viena 8 Col Jurez. Is it a recommendable, clean hotel, safe location?
Can you tell us how to get to this hotel from the international airport by metro? Is it safe, as we will be arriving 4:30 very early morning.
Arriving Mexico this very early, after breakfast, what is there yet to do, as we understand the hotels in Mexico's check in are after 3 in the afternoon...is there such a think locking luggages somewhere in the city?
Thank you so very much!!

THANK YOU FOR TAKING YOUR TIME READING OUR POST!
Please give us your opinion as this will be our first time to visit Mexico City. Our wish is to find a clean, conviently located or centrally located, safe and budget accommodation. Just as long as this has it' meets what we are looking for, we are easy travellers, but on a budget as our visit to Mexico City is really an excapade for my wife's celebrating her birthday and this was her wish to visit the GUADALUPE CHURCH (the original church). We normally hear mass daily, so, the closer we are to the church the more wonderful our plan is molding.
Through internet, we came across this AIR BNB located at La Condesa. It charges forty dollars for the two of us. How centrally located is this area?
What we were wishing for is living with a family as this will costs as much less and yet get local tips. To us it is important to have our own bathroom to find ourselves more comfortable.
Should anyone out there have any suggestions we certainly appreciate it very much.
As soon as we are booked with accommodation, we then can move forward and we wish to start a
VT MEETING (does anyone have a good suggestion of a centrally, safe location to hold our VT MEETING?
We can't wait for our arrival in Mexico City, it's always been my wish to visit Mexico City.
THANK YOU ONE AND ALL!
I am taking my wife to Mexico City for her birthday (next month-April). We live in Spain and are use when traveling we stay in a B&B - that would be centrally located and above all clean, own bathroom and affordable. Would anyone had experience on staying at a B&B in Mexico City and how. Uh does it cost per night?
We are not sure if staying in a hotel is mo recommendable as this is our first time to visit Mexico City.
Any helpful advise would be greatly appreciated for this matter.
Is Is it cheaper and easier to buy a pass for the metro?
Thanks. Is there a museum pass that allows entrance to several muesums at a discounted price?
