Hi! What's the best (and by that I also mean cheapest)way to buy tickets for classical musical concerts, live theater, opera, etc? I am on a budget, so any information on cheap or free venues, like churches would also be appreciated. Lastly, are prices for more or less equivalent events the same or less expensive than in the U.S.A. Thanks.
When you get into the city stop at any news stand and buy a copy of "Tiempo Libre" (free time). It's a weekly entertainment guide which will list all sorts of things, give descriptions, prices, addresses, which are free, etc. Othewise, Ticketmaster is how most venue tickets are sold. You can buy them at Mix-Up record shops or at venue box offices (but I think all use the Ticketmaster system). You can check www.ticketmaster.com.mx to learn which big acts will be performing during your visit.
