Hello I will be in Athens on the 5th of july, and would like to take a car/bus to meteora, that evening, spend a few hours on the sixth, and go back that day. Can anyone give me the best way to do it? I know that there are both buses and trains. what would be the best, where do I find their timetables, and how long would it take? also - if there is anyone who drives that way that day - Id be happy to join ans split the expenses... Thanks Rohan
athensinfoguide.com/busTT.ht... from Athens centre you take bus 024 to the second (B) busstation, ask in the bus. see : ktel-trikala.gr/?module=defa... the second set of timetables is Athens - Trikala. see :ktel-trikala.gr/?module=defa... from Trikala to Kalambaka: first timetable is weekdays, second weekends. As your bustrip Athens - Trikala will take about 4,5 hours, you will have to leave Athens at about 15.00 to be sure to catch a connection in Trikala. And here is the trainschedule !! : tickets.trainose.gr/dromolog... only early trains go direct , for most you have to change at Paleofársala. The fastes is the train from Athens at 16.15, that will be at Paleofársala at 19.49. Two minutes later, 19.51, the train to Kalambaka will leave and be there at 20.45 the ticketprice for the train will be 26,90 euro, one-way. hope this info was of help. maria
