Hi. I am planning to visit Meteora the 10th. of June. I read that Great Meteora is closed Tuesday and Wednesday in winter; and only closed on Tuesday in summer. Do they consider June 10 summer or they stick to the calendar? Thank you. David.
I always thought that June is summer and it should be open. I went there about the same time years ago. Bring a jacket because the winds picks up sometimes.Go on a thursday for sure entree. The best pictures I taken was on the outside and the steps to the monestary were narrow. If you like sausage, when we were coming down from the area there were roadside sausage vendors on the road. They were the best and I never had the same taste again.

According to the Greek Ministry of Culture, "winter schedules" for visiting arch.sites are valid from November 1, 2009 to March 31, 2010 and "summer schedules" start on April 1, 2010. So, for the Greek Ministry of Culture, there are only 2 seasons per year and not 4, as Vivaldi claims...
