Hello :) I'm going to Rawa Island in 1 1/2 weeks. Beacuse we are comming in from Kuala Lumpur with bus, and need to pay for the Hotel at the office in Mersing, we would have to stay overnight I think. I would like to stay at a 4 o5 5 star Hotel, but can't find any. So, do you know any? Is it easy to get hold of a taxi boat from Mersing to Rawa if I want to get there myself, and if yes, how does it cost? Thanks :)
Hi, i am willing to travel to Tioman and would like to stay in Mersing for a night. Need to know what is the bus frequency from JB to Mersing in night around 8 or 9 PM (as i am coming from Singapore and will be reaching JB around 8:00 pm). The plan is to catch the first ferry at 8:30 am from Mersing to Tioman. Also, what is the frequency of ferry's between Mersing and Tioman. i did some research on internet and it appears that the ferry's are not very often (want to know the ease of catching a ferry). The same is required for ferry's from Tioman to Mersing thanks

My friend and I would like to know where we can go fishing in Mersing. We do not intend to go offshore fishing in any of the islands around Mersing, but just some place where there is a jetty or Kelong. Please advise.

In a few weeks time I will need to get from Mersing to Singapore. There is no flight (ex Tioman) that day, and apparently ferry times will not be known until the day before I intend to depart Tioman. If I need to get a taxi from Mersing, can anyone please advise how it works? What should it cost, where do I get one, how much haggling etc? Above and beyond what it costs, where to get one. If anyone can advise on how reliable it is, and what to expect I'd be grateful. This journey is the only one on the itinerarty for which I basically have nothing planned and would like to understand what is involved a bit more... Many thanks...
Need ur opinion. Is it safe to drive (me and my girlfriend) from Singapore to Mersing at around 6pm on a weekday. Approximately I should be reaching Mersing at around 9pm. I will check in a hotel that night and then proceed to Tioman the next morning. Is the long term car park in Mersing jetty is safe? Roughly I know the route from Singapore to Mersing. I have driven once to Malaka before during day time. Recently I see many bad reports happening to Singapore car/drivers in Johor usually to expensive cars. Though I drive a cheap car, iam a bit concern driving with my girlfriend at late evening. Appreciate any feedback.
I and my girlfriend intend to go to Tioman for 2 nights 17th and 18th Feb 2006. Iam a Singaporean and she is a foreigner. Her flight lands in Singapore on 16 Feb at 5pm. First I thought of taking a bus to Mersing on 17th Feb from Five Star Tours which leaves at 6am. But I was told that due to monsoon season, they don’t ply this route until March. Now iam planning to go to Mersing direct from Changi Airport on the 16th Feb . .. stay in Mersing 1 night . . .and then catch the first ferry to Tioman on 17th morning. ….so that I have a full day in Tioman on 17th feb 1. Can anybody advice me how to go to Mersing from Changi Airport at around 5pm on the 16th Feb? I have already checked and there isn’t any direct bus. Iam not in favour of taking public bus from Singapore to Johore and then to Mersing as we may have luggage and furthermore my girlfriend may have language problem at immigration if she is required to follow special queue for foreigners. How about taxi options? Is it easy to get Malaysian taxi at that hour from Rochor Road? And where exactly in Rochor Road? Is it behind the Lady of Lourdes Church? How much will it cost? 2. Also can somebody recommend a reasonably priced hotel in Mersing, near the jetty for 1 night stay on 16th? Thk u everybody.
Hi, Can anyone tell me if it is possible to cash TC's close to the bus station / jetty to Tioman? Or alternatively use an ATM? Thx, Igsz
