Hi. Does anybody please know if there is any budget accomodation in the town of Tabay near Merida? There used to be a hotel named the "Posada Turística Tabay" at the main town square - is it still open? Thanks.

Very late... BUT There is a HOSTAL in the countryside that provides very low priced dormitory style beds- 35 BsF a night which is 4$ basically. The rooms are cheap as well. The website is www.lamanopoderosa.com. It is countryside- dirt road- open air. WALKING INVOLVED. But cheap.
