Anybody stayed there before? Is it ok? claims to be 3 starts hotel? Can you catch a train or tram nearby to Melbourne city center?

I am under the impression that they are serviced apartments rather than a hotel. Looking at them on Google Maps (they are at 32 Darling Street) it seems they are a set of apartments that have been converted, but I have never been to them. South Yarra railway station is about 250 meters away, likewise trams are also available opposite the station in Toorak Road. It is also a short walk to Chapel Street. This area is great for quality shopping and dining.

I don't know the apartments but agree with the other poster that it is a great position. I would have a look at the comments on Trip Advisor before booking though. There are some pretty negative reviews.

I believe this is a hotel and has serviced apartments as well - so maybe both previous posters are correct. I used to drive taxis here in Melb and that was one of the places where I did pick up. Never heard any negative comments. Very close to both rail and tram routes and plenty of eateries in Toorak Road at end of street. Chapel Street as mentioned is easy walk away. Train would be far quicker than tram to get into city.
