Is it possible for a tourist from the Middle East to cross overland from Termez on the Uzbek boarder to Mazar e Sharif. What is needed for this (if at all possible)?

The border at Termez is open only to the NGO. Check out http://www.kabulcaravan.com which is a mine of infos for the traveller to Afghanistan
