Hi,
I'll be on my honeymoon trip to Mauritius for 9 days. I've booked Tarisa Resort hotel (in Trou aux Biches) on half board basis. I need an estimate for 9 days lunch for 2 people in a decent hotel. The honeymoon package also includes 3-day tours. Apart from those, we will be taking 1 or 2 optional paid tours (visit to an island and watersport maybe). How much money in Mauritian Rupees should I carry? Please advise.
Thanks!
Pankaj

I wanted to get an idea on the price of water sports activities in Mauritius. The quotations given by my honeymoon planner are pretty high and wanted to know the right prices. If anyone has been there recently and can share their experience, it is highly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi, My fiancee and I are leaving for our honeymoon on the 5th March, and returning on 14th March, given that I hear Mauritius is being hit by torrential rain right now, does any one have any ideas of how bad it is and what are we to expect? Im worried the whole time will be a wash out.... We are staying in balaclava Maritim resort. Thanks
Has anyone travelled in Mauritius renting rooms from locals? Is it common, resp. are there guest houses with a good standard and what are the average prices for a room with bathroom? I want to travel around freely and stay where I like it and not pre-book a hotel. What about the beaches, are all beaches accessible to the public or are the beaches from the big hotels private? What about eating costs at places where locals commonly eat? Has anyone done any island hoping to Zansibar and islands around?Which months is advisable (not rainy all the time and no hurricane). thank you for your reply-

I plan to travel to Mauritius later this year. The idea is to rent a Kayak Sit-On-Top and to paddle around for 2 weeks, sleeping on beaches with my jungle hammock. Any of you guys know a place where I can rent a good kayak for more than a day and not too expensive? Another thing, since I wanna sleep on beaches, is mosquitos, gnats and other blood suckers a big issue in Mauritius? Thanks.

Arriving in Port Louis via cruise liner in December 2012 for a few days, and just want to hang around at the beach and do some water activities. Any tips on getting from and back to the ship to Town and what transport to use and what beach to go to?
Hi all, I will be visiting Mauritius in the last 2 weeks of December and am wondering what activity options I have as a solo traveller. I will be staying with a friend(in Blue Bay) who will be working in the day and will have a couple of other friends join me at a later time, but would be nice to make a few connections/friends(on here) before I visit. Besides the nightlife, I enjoy scuba-diving, horse-back riding, volunteering/charity work, wine/dine, etc. Anyone with genuine recommendations or would like to hang out on the beach with me; I look forward to hearing from you :-). Thanks, V.
hi, i am thinking of having a holiday in mauritius dec 2012 for two weeks. i haven't decided which part to go to yet but at the minute i am favouring the north coast. my question is it somewhere that people would head to on there own? i am going to be travelling on my lonesome and am a bit concerned as to whether i would enjoy it as i get the impression that most there will be couples or honeymooners. i am looking at doing it all inclusive and will probably spend most of my time beside the resort pool or on the beach and doing a few of the tours as well. any advice greatly appreciated
Hello: My wife and I are from California and are looking to travel to Mauritius over the winter break. We were hoping to come in early to mid January 2013 for about 7-10 days but are having second thoughts after reading online about the possibility of cyclones hitting the island around this time. I would like to know from folks about how high the risk of a cyclone is this time of year? How often do they hit? Even if there is no cyclone, does it tend to rain a lot this time of year? Also, does the weather vary depending on which side of the island you stay? Since we are going to be traveling clear around to the other side of the world, the last thing we would want to have happen is for us to run into severe weather while we are there! Any insights folks can provide would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I am looking for a holiday to Mauritius in the month of feb-12 Weather sites says that feb has hot, humid and rainy climate. Please provide the actual feedback for the month of Feb. Thanks
We're looking to spend 6/7 in Mauritius, and would like to know the better parts of town, or which town to live in. We do not want to go for a beach holiday, but more a get-to-know-the country and the people-type of stay. We lived overseas with a big US bank for years and are used to exploring, networking, entertaining and getting to know the country. We have done some research, but cannot quite figure out where we should situate ourselves for a 1/2 year rental.
I want to take my honeymoon in Mauritius and wanted some advice. Mostly me and my wife are both interested in Scenic and natural beauty with some outdoor activities, not too interested in beaches. I am really interested in at least one of these: 1. Helicopter Ride 2. Aeroplane 3. Cruise 4. Snorkling I have a budget of3500 (I will be paying air travel separately) and the trip can last around 10 days. Are there any good tour agents that we can sign up with. Any advise will be most welcome.

We are flying in to Mauritius for one night before going on to Madagaskar. Where should we stay? Later on we have 2 nights on Mauritius for sight-seeing rather than for beaches. Where should we stay - modest accommodation but not too cheap. thanks
