In general the animals are in the Maasai Mara (Kenya) between August and December, and in the Serengeti (Tanzania) for the rest of the year. However, the migration is determined by rainfall patterns, and they might leave the Serengeti later if there is still sufficient food there.

Hi, the MIGRATION should be done by then. All the animals will be on the KENYA side. They start slowly heading back to TANZ in DEC. If you could move up your trip to TANZ for AUG. that would be better. Or in sept start in the MARA. Finish in TANZ. You may get lucky. I did in SEPT 2002. In the MARA the 2nd week of SEPT. They are strange though. Some were leaving, some were coming back. Some don't move at all. We went to the RIVER a 2nd day because the animals just hanged around the 1st day. Hope this helps. David
