Hi guys, I'm going for one weekend for a wedding. There seems to be dozens of options, ranging from just surprisingly expensive to a month's rent expensive. I'm worried that train to bus to boat will take forever and get stuck in traffic and be stressful, but flights are like400 a person. There's a220 boat that goes the whole way? That still sounds really expensive to me, but at least no traffic? I would really really appreciate some advice. Thanks!
two years ago we also researched a possible trip - pricing is brutal.

Yes, I was shocked by Cape Air's ticket prices, but of course it's high season to the vineyard. Capitalism at its very best.

Any suggestions on the best of the250-and-under options? Thank you!

Turns out the boat-all-the-way isn't going the weekend I need (9/30 - 10/2). And we are silly New Yorkers who don't know how to drive. Gaaaah! Now I'm looking at Amtrak to Kingston, RI > shuttle > Oak Bluffs Ferry vs. Amtrak to Boston > Peter Pan Bus > Woods Hole Ferry Anyone have thoughts?

wedding on labor day weekend on martha's vineyard ?????? with no disrespect, what were they thinking? better take out a second mortgage on the co-op. more seriously, if that is possible, you might email vt member pawtuxet who lives in rhode island and may be more familiar with your options. for us, it was fly from lga versus drive and ferry.

That's not even close to Labor Day Weekend. The cheapest way to go is bus from NYC (like Bolt), then Peter Pan to Falmouth and then the ferry. Bus is MUCH cheaper than the train if that's your criteria, and they take about the same amount of time.
