I am planning to follow my Dad's path during WW2 with the US Navy in the Pacific in the Marshall & Gilbert Islands. Are the battle site accessable and what web site do it use to apply for the travel permit.

I'm about to deploy to Roi Namur as a civilian contractor. As I travel the world, I'm in the habit of bringing my 2 kids out for a week or so in order for them to see different parts of the world. Are there accommodations on Roi for visitor (they are 19 & 27)?

My parents will be in Majuro for a few months. Wondering if anyone could tell me if it's possible to get an air card for laptops to have wireless internet through their cell phone?

Can anyone tell me the best way to travel to Kwajalein from Brisbane Australia. Or is to be a long way around from down here?? Many thanks, Col

I am travelling to Ebeye, Kwajalein, at the end of October, but I am having lots of difficulties finding any information on the place, after having searched everywhere on the net and having contacted the Marshall Island Tourist Office, without success. I read somewhere that you need some special permit to be in Kwajalein, though I know that my Italian passport would be enough for the Marshall Islands. Does anyone know about this? I have read on the net about the Amrohasa Hotel in Ebeye but I can't get through on the phone and don't have an e-mail to contact. I would really appreciate if anyone can help!

I would like to spend a few days at the end of October in Kwajalein. Could anyone tell me if I could find some sort of Hotel or accommodation? Thanks AL

I am an american (civilian contractor), working in Kwajalein. I am in an unacompanied tour here. Is there any apartment area that i can rent to bring my wife with me and live out of the base? If yes, what documents my Filipina wife needs to be able to travel to the island and stay living with me during my tour here? Thank you. EM

Hey all, I'm considering teaching at the College of the Marshall Islands. I was wondering if anyone had any advice for me, or things for me to consider before I take the decision. I am teaching in the Marshall Islands starting July 2007 for a year through World Teach (teaching English) and any information/tips/advice would be appreciated. Don't know yet which island I will be on--could be urban or outer. Any good guide books on the Marshall Islands?

I'm going to be in Majuro for about two months this summer volunteering. What kind of housing options are available for this length of time? Also, about how much does one spend on food per day in Majuro?

I am also trying to visit a friend on kwajalein, but had kinda pushed the idea aside because i thouhgt maybe it would be too hard/expensive to gain access to the island .... can civilians just fly in and out of there? if so, what airlines? i'm also flying from washington DC so i'm sure it's going to be really expensive ... are there any good deals i could take advantage of or am i just going to take what i can get because it's such a "out of the way" destination? and let's say i make it to the island (with money still in my pocket) what is there to do there? i know it's home to the Reagan missle testing base ... (that's where my friend works) but i'm sure he'll be working some of the time and i don't want to completly rely on him to show me around. any help will be greatly appreciated! thanks! ~michelle

Any tips about Kwajalein this time of year? The Zydeco Party Band will be playing 3 gigs, but we don't know exactly where, perhaps two of the parties will be on other nearby islands? So any information would be useful.
