    • Laglio to Colmar via Switzerland

      Colmar Apr 21, 2014 at 8:00 AM

We are planning to travel from Laglio, in Lake Como district, to Colmar in France. We were hoping to travel there through the Swiss Alps, rather than travelling through the French countryside. We are booked into Colmar the same afternoon/evening that we depart Laglio so cannot stop along the way but would love a scenic trip. Any ideas?

      With thanks, D. and J.

      Easter in Provence

      Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Apr 18, 2014 at 9:32 AM

      Hello
I'm spending Easter in Provence (based in Marsellie and doing day trips out) and would like some ideas on what to do in Provence over Easter. I'm alone so would like some nice things to do to keep me company! I like markets, festivals or just easter events.
I would like to visit Aix En Provence, Arles, Lyon, Avignon etc but don't know which days would be best to see these towns. Do things close over the weekend?
      I'm here for 5 days.
Or any other towns anyone would recommend to see?
I can't drive around but am more then happy with public transport. Any help would be great!!

      Geneva Annecy

      Annecy Mar 31, 2014 at 7:22 PM

We are a group of 9. We land at Geneva airport on 14th May at 8.20 AM.

We would 1st like to wander around Geneva for a few hours

Then go to ANNECY in late afternoon (preferably by road -- old??), and stay the night there.

Reach Lausanne by the 15th May afternoon. (Next day -- 16th-- want to visit Gruyere and Broc and then onto Interlaken)

We will have the Swiss train Railpass.

How do we work this out, if it is feasible?? Especially the Geneva- Annecy -Lausanne portion. The costing should not be too high.

      Thanks

    • EU Certified Voltage Converter

      Paris 49 minutes ago

We are taking a river cruise in France early in May. We want to use a voltage converter so we can plug in my wife’s 40 watt hair curler, my electric shaver, a cell phone charger and a Kindle charger, all of which run on 115volts. Literature for the cruise line states that “voltage converters must be EU certified.” I have googled the phrase any number of times and also have read the specs for many voltage converter advertisements but have never found any which state that they are “EU certified.” What does the phrase really mean? What do I look for in the specs that will enable me to choose a converter which will satisfy the requirement?

      Thank you very much.

My family is spending three weeks in Europe. We're considering renting an apartment in Marseilles (we'll be travelling to Northern Italy, Switzerland, the South of France, etc), but someone recommended that we try to swap our home with another family in the area. What are people's experiences with these sorts of agencies? Can anyone recommend a website or agent who does this and is trustworthy?

      Flights from Marseilles to Frankfurt

by aussiecouple Online Now May 26, 2005 at 5:54 PM

I need to fly Marseilles to Frankfurt on Sunday 17 July. The only airline I can find is Lufthansa which charge more than 600 euros for a one way economy flight!
      Tried skyscanner with no success.

Anyone know of a discounted airline which provides that route?
