Hi,
My girlfriend and I have booked a ferry from Split to Ancona, travelling overnight, we arrive into Ancona around 8am.
The date we arrive into Ancona is the 13th of June, i cant seem to find any sites that will allow me to pre-book a train ticket from Ancona to Venice? It is 49 days away, so i thought i would well and truly be able to book this seeing as it is under 60 days until our departure date. Can anyone suggest why this may be happening?

How far is ancona from pescara and would you recommend it as a nicer place to spend about 10 days. Is there enough to see in the area by private driver. Seems like there are many restaurants and picking the hotel closest to the centre seems important- Your help is appreciated. Would you choose ancona over pescara and francavilla al mare?Thanks-Gene

how far is ancona central rail station im on foot and going to Bolonga by train or is it better by coach

Hi! We are going to Civitanova Marche next week and wonder if there is anything special that we "must taste" in that region? Maybe even you didn't think it was worth it:-) Is there anything else we should do there, visit there - something very unique or rather special (maybe even some shopping center)? I will be staying in Urbino in a hotel at Corso Garibaldi 32 over a weekend. Are there any grocery stores/alimentari/supermarkets or farmers markets open on Saturday or Sunday within walking distance to my hotel?

I will be in Urbino in November and wish to travel to Ascoli Piceno by bus or train. After departing Ascoli Piceno, I'd like to continue on to Rome, also by public transportation. Could someone please advise me how to do this? I found this website www.startspa.it but I'm afraid my Italian is poor and I can't understand it. I also would like to know if buses/trains run on the weekend. Thank you.

Hi, we've just arrived in Ancona. Staying for a week on the outskirts of the town off the via Pontilungo and really want to watch the football (euro 2012) nearby. Any suggestions as to where to go? We will be visiting Urbino in early April. We would like to take a day trip to San Marino while we are there. Are there any tour packages for day trips to San Marino from Urbino? Is there a bus that runs from Urbino to San Marino? We won't have a car so I'm trying to figure out the best way to get there. Any help would be very appreciated.

Sadly our own travel guides are very much beach oriented when it comes to Marche. I am looking for some accommodation and charming towns in southern Marche, provinces of Macerata, Fermo and Ascoli to be precise. I want to combine this with Abruzzo early July, approx. 1 week alltogether. With car. I have stayed briefly in the region and found a charming agriturismo, but this was too far in the north for what I am planning now. I want to do some hiking and visit some hermitages/eremi. Precisely one near San Severiono Marche (Sant'Eutizio) and the other near Sarano (and Amandola and San Ginesio). So I am looking for your suggestions of charming towns and charming accommodation. I don't like the luxury ones, which is not a question of money but a lack in "rural charm", as I would say :-) Thanks in advance :-) Ingrid

My daughter will be spending her spring semester at the univerisyt in Urbino. She's flying into Rome on Sunday, January 15th and taking a connecting flight to Ancona. How much would a taxi to Urbino cost? Is there a better way to get from Ancona to Urbino on a Sunday than by taxi? Thanks!!!

Hi, we are catching the ferry from Ancona to Patras - it leaves 13.30 and we need to be in Ancona at 11.30 to check in (we are told). We don't really want to spend the night in Ancona - we would rather a nice hill town nearby that we can train into Ancona from the next morning. Are there any recommendations? We thought of maybe even staying Verona or Assisi but these seem to be about 3 hrs from Ancona so it may be a bit of a morning rush. We also loved the idea of Spoleto but it is further away. We are coming from Varenna (2nghts), Bergamo (1ngt) and now need another night before Ancona. Any help appreciated.

I am traveling down the Adriactic coast to see many towns but only for a short time in each town. I will be staying in Pescara for 2 nights in December, mid week. My preference is to wander around and see sights. I have looked at the online brochure from the toursit site and it looks like an overwhelming number of sites to choose from. If someone could recommend an itinerary for a long walking day, I would be gratefull. Also any inexpensive restaurants. I prefer the restaurants where workers go for lunch with company tickets. Is it difficult to drive a rental car out of Rome? (I've always avoided driving in Italy's major cities.) Would it not be more convenient to get to Le Marche by flying into Bologna, instead of Rome? How many hours was the drive from Rome to your destination in Le Marche (which was...?)

I'll be traveling in November and I'd like to go from Arezzo to Urbino and then on to Assisi. It appears that the only train option is to go up to Bologna and then to Pesaro and then transfer to bus to Urbino--I don't want to do this because it's expensive and time-consuming. Is there a bus only way to do this? I've been trying to read bus schedules but my Italian is not so good. Thanks.

Unfortunately we have searched the internet in italian and we did not found information about a direct bus line from Pesaro to Urbino. Hello everybody! We're planning to get to urbino on the 8th of December and go from there to Cortona on the 9th, in the morning. We have searched for a bus line from Urbino to Cortona on http://www.sitabus.it and http://www.amibus.it/ but, evend though one of us speaks italian, we could not find any direct line. Could please tell us how to find out the timetable of the bus lines between Urbino and Cortona. Thank you in advance

i am going to be in ancona but i need to get to munich on the 17th sept for opening weekend of oktoberfest...are there trains from ancona to munich? or buses? i cant seem to find any?
