we are going to stay in marathon in may and we would like to hire a convertable (soft top), we have been to orlando a few times and would not feel safe driving aroun with the top down there, would it be safe to drive around thye keys with the top down many thanks
Well Kim, as a great man once said:If you will drive a cabriolet, "There is nothing to fear, but the seagulls and other flying birds". It is completely safe. Crime is so rare in Marathon I don't think they even have a drunk tank.

Maybe you should let us know why you are afraid in Orlando, there may be the same element of fear in Marathon.

i wouldnt feel safe driving around orlando in a soft top in case we were mugged at traffic lights as we understand that happens quite a lot in orlando

it is perfectly safe to drive in both Orlando and Marathon in a convertible. definitely.

Thanks Sarah. I knew Mickey was bad but, not that bad. Put your purses in the trunk. Tell the mugger your money is in the trunk. When they go behind the car, put it in reverse.

My husband lived and worked in Marathon for a few years before we got married. It is a very safe town. No much going on there unless you are going for lots of R&R. Have fun.
