    • Marinas in Cancún - Hitch a Boat

      Mexico Jan 9, 2015 at 4:28 PM

      Hello!

I'm looking to hitch a boat (willing to work/pay) from Cancún to Cuba (La Habana I suppose). I'm planning to go to the marinas here in Cancún, leave an ad and talk to as many people as I can, and look for boats who need a crew.

Do you know which are the marinas in Cancún where I would have the most chances to get a ride?

      Thank you!

San Cristóbal de Las Casas Dec 28, 2014 at 9:58 PM

Does anyone know the dates for the celebration in Tenejapa this year? As it is usually several days, is one day better than another for an outside observer? Also, there is supposed to be a small hotel/hostel in town but I cannot find contact information. Thanks for any help!

      Guanajuato Jan 2, 2015 at 10:49 AM

What is the best sequence/timeline for us? We are a couple of young seniors who would like to visit Guanajuato and the San Miguel de Allende areas between March 26 and April 4th.. We would have about 10 days and are more interested in the culture and people than the tourist attractions and noise. Any information on hotels would also be appreciated. We speak limited Spanish. Thank you for your help.

a good beach to go to for a few hours from the cruise ship

      Isla Cozumel 11 hours ago

We are coming into Cozumel on a cruise ship. What would be a good beach to go to for the day (we are in port form 8am until 3 pm). we are traveling with our elderly mother, who loves to swim in the ocean. She can't really do a lot of walking around, so we are looking for something that she can enjoy with out tons of walking. Is there a good tour we should do, or would a beach be the best?

    • New Travel Warning from US State Dept. I would love your feedback on Mexico travel from experience

      Mexico Jan 4, 2015 at 3:58 PM

I just read the new travel warning that was released Dec. 24, 2014 on Mexico travel.

Here is the link to read the warning: travel.state.gov/content/pas... . They include La Paz in the warning areas.

I would love to visit Acapulco, Los Cabos, and La Paz. I am a filmmaker, and would like to consider one or more of these cities/areas for a future production. I would love to hear your experiences if you traveled to either one or more of these places in the past year or few years.

Now all of us can say that the US has very dangerous places too, especially in large cities, but we still have to take travel warnings seriously and be realistic about the safety of any location included in travel warnings.

What has been your experience traveling and vacationing in the cities mentioned above, good tips for traveling in these cities, if you feel based on your experience that the caution we are advised to take is over-hyped or too alarmist, and if you feel that there are safer alternatives in Mexico.

      Thank you for your feedback!

      One-day cruise visit to Manzanillo

by rplothow Online Now Oct 29, 2009 at 8:31 PM

We are frequent cruisers and will be making our fourth cruise down the Pacific side of Mexico this winter that will include a day in Manzanillo, which is one of the few major Pacific ports we've not visited. We understand that the city itself is rather unspectacular, but we also hear good things about the beaches and region around Manzanillo.

Has anyone on this forum been to the turtle sanctuary near Cuyutlan? Is it worth the six-hour excursion through the cruise line?

I hope to make a trip with my family of eleven (includes five kids) to Manzanillo and Guadalajara. We intend to rent a van and divide our time between the two places. What do you think of that plan? Any suggestions about hotels in Manzanillo? Any places that are particularly interesting between the two cities? What is the weather like at the end of August? I am an independent traveler and speak decent Spanish. Thanks.

    • Question about the Gran Costa Real, Manzanillo

by seanmelanie Online Now Jan 17, 2005 at 10:30 PM

Hello, My fiance and I are having our honeymoon in Manzanillo and are staying at the Gran Costa Real for 2 weeks in February. We would like some advice/tips/info from anyone who has stayed at this specific hotel. We are actually having another wedding "ceremony" in the fishing village of La Manzanilla, which is 60 minutes from our hotel in Manzanillo.......and are wondering how much it costs to take a 60 minute cab ride? My family wants to rent a car, but I'm not so sure that driving after the cermony at night would be safe. I have travelled to Mexico numerous times, but have never been to Manzanillo, and have never stayed in an all-inclusive resort...so this will be my first time for both. Thanks for your help! Melanie
