I and couple of friends (2-3)are planning to go to Turkey (Istanbul, Cappadoccia,Ephesus, Pamakule between Nov 4-15.
Let me know if anyone else is also planning trip around the same dates from Bangalore or anywhere from India
I am visiting Istanbul for two days in the end of November. Alongwith touring different places in Istanbul, I am interested in buying a Turkish rug that I have heard are the best in the world. Not knowing the Turkish language (from Pakistan....can speak Urdu and English fluently) is it realistic for me to expect to get a good deal and true quality, or will I get ripped off? Where should I go to get good quality and reasonably priced rugs? Do they haggle over price or they have fixed prices?
I am planning to visit istanbul on november first week, and i read its the election time, already there are civil riots and wars in turkey these days, how safe will be the election days, please advise about the atmospehere on november this year :-)
Expect a lot more of these since there's a slump in tourism due to the political climate (and Russian tourists something like 25% down in the Antalya region, etc). It might even get worse, but Turkey is definitely a cheap destination if you're up for it (exchange rate favourable and lira fuel prices have actually dropped, road trips are now a good option) - and haggle massively.

Hello! I'm planning to visit Bodrum next week on 24th of September. Our plane will land on Bodrum Airport 9 P.M. I wanted to ask what is the easiest and cheapest way to get from airport to hotel. And are there any buses riding at this time in the evening? Our hotel is Bodrum Imperial, it's in Akyarlar. And also you can recommend things to do and places to visit in Bodrum.
Thank you in advance,
I've reserved the hotel The Marmara Taksim for 6 night, and the find out the Taksim square is the main.point of the protest!
Common! Is it really not safe? I mean just like Ankara's?
And how about the areas Nisantasi & Levent? Due They have the best restaurants & cafés ! :-))
