    • Backpacking family - train or car to head from Milan to Verona through Sirmione

      Sirmione May 16, 2013 at 7:24 PM

      Hi, everyone!

We will spend a couple of days in Milan in laste June and then will head east to Verona and Padova, but intended to spend a few hours in Sirmione. I could rent a car or take the train (consider that we will have our backpacks with us at this time since we will be moving to a different city), but I am concerned with two possible problems associated with each option - lack of parking space or lack of lockers at the train station. Any suggestions or ideas?

      Bellagio May 18, 2013 at 2:02 PM

Is it easier and quicker to reach Bellagio via train to Como and bus to Bellagio, how often and how late do the buses run? Or go to Milano Centrale change for Varenna and then the ferry. Arriving at 6 o'clock on a Friday evening and going by the timetables we wont be reaching Bellagio till about 10 o'clock.

      Hello travel gurus,
I will be in Italy May 22-June 25. I want to use the train some of the time. Taking into account that it will be busy and some of my destinations are popular...Is it worth my time and money I purchase Eurorail (which is First Class)from the states or purschase 2nd class when in Italy. My girlfriend and I are in our 30's-40's and have no physical limitations.
      Thank very much.

    • What towns?

Lago di Como May 3, 2013 at 9:35 AM

      Hello world travelers,

I just found this fantastically inspiring site by seeing one Auroea/Jelena beautiful photographs and this is my first post. I regret that this is my first trip to Italy in 19yrs and my girl has never been. we are leaving from Los Angeles to Milano May22 and leaving from Rome June 25 and I want Lago di Como to be our first stop for 3 nights. With so many rooms being booked at this time of year I am have difficulty deciding on a b&b or small hotel or near a town that has great views, isn't very busy, has an authentic feel and good food. My budget for a room is flexible up to about $I20 a night. I am thinking I may rent a car since I would like to visit many towns. Any recommendations?

      I sincerely appreciate. Claudio Marangone

      Bellagio Apr 25, 2013 at 10:12 PM

Wondered if anyone could help with my travel dilemma. Coming to Milan for a week in September and wondered where to base for sightseeing, easy transport links and restaurants. Fancied Bellagio but it may pose problems getting back for an early morning flight. Any suggestions? Any views on Lecco?

      Bar in Via Cremona

We'll be staying at Albergo Meublè Abatjour (does anyone know this hotel, by the way?) in Via Cremona, and as there won't be breakfast there, I would like to know if there is a bar around where to have a (good) Cappuccino in the morning.

Has anyone taken a different route other than going back thru Milan? If so, what was it? What station in Como is best for being close to the walkway and the funicular? We cannot do hydrofoil or any boat due to sea sickness. Thanks for any help.

    • Corneliani factory outlet mantova

by tarri12 Online Now Aug 22, 2010 at 3:59 AM

Hi, I'll be visiting Mantova next week and I've seen there's a factory outlet store there for Corneliani which is one of my favourite clothing brands. Can anyone tell me whether it's worth to visit this outlet i.e. are the prices truely at factory outlet level (60-70% below retail)? Is the selection they carry any good? Thanks in advance for taking the time of answering my question.

Budget hotel or B & B recommendation for Mantova

I'd your advice for a budget (under 70 euros a night preferred) bed and breakfast or hotel for Mantova in May. We don't care if the place is simple--we just want it to be clean and in a excellent central location with a bathroom ensuite. Thanks in advance!

È veramente necessario ai visitatori individuali prenotare l'ingresso alla Camera Degli Sposi? Il sito del Comune dice 'no', il sito del Ministero dice 'si'... Grazie.

    • Mosquitos in Mantova

by myrasue Online Now Apr 4, 2004 at 2:02 PM

Help!! We are going to Italy in August of 2004. We are scheduled to go to Mantova, but have been scared by the descriptions of hot, humid weather in a city that is surrounded by swamplike water. Are mosquitos a problem when walking around town in the evening? There is still time to change our plans. We would be miserable in a place that has a mosquito problem. Thank you
