Travel from Mannheim to shopping in Zweibrücken (Designer Outlets)

Hi, I've been searching for info on the best way to get from Mannheim to the Designer Outlet shops in Zweibrucken. I don't have a car and it would be a day trip - out in the morning, back that evening. Can someone give me a suggestion? Bus? Train? - thanks so much. Karen
