My kind of music is David Guetta, house music, electronic.. I'm wondering what would be a safe place to go but in the budget.

Travel by Subway from Times Square to Yankee stadium

by oldguy472003 Online Now Aug 20, 2014 at 5:00 PM

Have tickets for the evening game on Friday Sept 5th.
Any thoughts on how long before game time we should catch the subway? we are staying in a hotel a block or so from Times square. I expect large crowds, should I also expect huge lineups at security, or do they handle things fairly well?
If we arrived there a couple hours early is there something to see /do near the stadium?
      Many thanks.

      Hi,

We're from the UK and looking forward to a week in NYC.

However, my wife has had a mole removed today, and she'll need to have the stitches removed whilst we're in NYC.

Has anyone an idea if we walk into a medical centre if they'll do it?

      Thanks

      Manhattan hotels closet to subway.

by HEMANUEL Online Now Jan 12, 2014 at 12:26 PM

I am looking for a hotel in Manhattan that is steps away from subway station, but also reasonably priced. We are booked for May and most hotels are around $350 per night. We would like a little less expensive, but do know you get what you pay for.

      Thanks

      Hi All,

My boyfriend and I are booked to stay at the "Westside Pearl" in December in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. I am trying to contact the hostel, however have noticed that "Jazz on the City" hostel also has the same street address as "Westside Pearl". Can anyone tell me which one is which and how I may get in contact with the hostel. I want to confirm our reservation only I am not getting any responses.

Hi- My husband and I will be in NYC next weekend. We are staying at the Sofitel, and will have Saturday evening free. I would appreciate any suggestions as to a good dinner place, hopefully with a view, or maybe outdoors if the weather cooperates, maybe rooftop? Any type of food is fine, we're not big foodies, enjoy the atmosphere more. Thanks very much for any help.

by ckulyk Online Now Mar 9, 2010 at 5:03 PM

Hi, my husband and 4 children are travelling to Manhattan for 4 nights in July 2010. My son turns 14 on the trip and I would love some ideas on a great restaurant that would be appealing to my son and also our 3 daughters ages 10, 12 and 15. We are from Australia so have no idea about dining out in NYC. We are staying at a pretty central location to everything, close to the museum of natural history ( i think ) and also the Beacon theatre. Any ideas would be appreciated?
      Cheers

    • Is this location okay for an apartment in Manhattan?

by nyholiday2010 Online Now Feb 13, 2010 at 7:57 PM

Friends and I are travelling to New York for Christmas and New York.
We have found an apartment but are not sure of the location, having not been to New York and not sure about the winter weather.

The apartment is located on West 42nd St between 11th and 12th avenues.

Is this location okay for shops and places to eat within walking distance, and is 3 - 4 blocks far to walk in winter to catch the subway? Not sure if this walk will be hard in snow after sightseeing all day.

Also, the location seems to be close to major roads, is this likely to be noisy? Are the roads very busy?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

by Silverthou Online Now Feb 18, 2007 at 7:18 AM

Some years ago, whilst on holidays in Turkey, I met and befriended a family staying at the same Hotel. I know very little about them except that I am sure they have two deli's in Manhattan. I am visiting New York soon and would like to say hello.
As far as I can remember, he was Turkish, his wife was Swedish, and there were 3 children, two boys and a girl.
From memory, I seem to remember that he was one of the biggest importers of Olives in the USA?
We met at the Samara Hotel in Bodrum.
