Hi All, My boyfriend and I are booked to stay at the "Westside Pearl" in December in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. I am trying to contact the hostel, however have noticed that "Jazz on the City" hostel also has the same street address as "Westside Pearl". Can anyone tell me which one is which and how I may get in contact with the hostel. I want to confirm our reservation only I am not getting any responses. Thanks Lisa
Hi- My husband and I will be in NYC next weekend. We are staying at the Sofitel, and will have Saturday evening free. I would appreciate any suggestions as to a good dinner place, hopefully with a view, or maybe outdoors if the weather cooperates, maybe rooftop? Any type of food is fine, we're not big foodies, enjoy the atmosphere more. Thanks very much for any help.
Hi, my husband and 4 children are travelling to Manhattan for 4 nights in July 2010. My son turns 14 on the trip and I would love some ideas on a great restaurant that would be appealing to my son and also our 3 daughters ages 10, 12 and 15. We are from Australia so have no idea about dining out in NYC. We are staying at a pretty central location to everything, close to the museum of natural history ( i think ) and also the Beacon theatre. Any ideas would be appreciated? Cheers claire
Friends and I are travelling to New York for Christmas and New York. We have found an apartment but are not sure of the location, having not been to New York and not sure about the winter weather. The apartment is located on West 42nd St between 11th and 12th avenues. Is this location okay for shops and places to eat within walking distance, and is 3 - 4 blocks far to walk in winter to catch the subway? Not sure if this walk will be hard in snow after sightseeing all day. Also, the location seems to be close to major roads, is this likely to be noisy? Are the roads very busy? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
Hi, My friend and I are travelling to Manhattan for a week in May. Could anyone suggest the best tour bus to see and get around (hop on hop off?) all of Manhattan and the best way to get to the Woodbury Common Mall. Thanks so much Gloria

Some years ago, whilst on holidays in Turkey, I met and befriended a family staying at the same Hotel. I know very little about them except that I am sure they have two deli's in Manhattan. I am visiting New York soon and would like to say hello. As far as I can remember, he was Turkish, his wife was Swedish, and there were 3 children, two boys and a girl. From memory, I seem to remember that he was one of the biggest importers of Olives in the USA? We met at the Samara Hotel in Bodrum.
are there any original woolworth stores in the new york area?
I'm visiting New York on business in October and will need to get to 845 Third Avenue. Could anyone local kindly tell me the nearest subway station to here and how far it is from that station, please? Many thanks Cowey
I had to cancel our family trip due to an emergency appendectomy. I am holding four (4)tickets for The Producers show at 8pm on 6/29, St. James Theatre. They won't refund my money. If anyone is interested in these tickets please email me here. I'm sorry if this post is improper. I'm just out a lot of money and trying to recoup some of it.
Our party of 4 will be arriving about midnight and need transportation with our 6 pieces of luggage. I don't think a cab can accomodate us. Will there be other options at the airport and will they be easily accessible or should I reserve a mini van?
Going to see "The Producers" at the St. James theatre on a week night. Any tips on attire? What are men, guys and women wearing?
Enroute to Grenada, our family of four including two boys 21 and 17 are staying at the W Hotel and considering the following itinerary: some Harbor Cruise to see the statue of Liberty and the skyline, some part of Central Park and then "The Producers" in the evening. Our substinance for the day will have to include a famous New York hot dog off a corner vendor and a slice of pizza. Any hot tips???????? Ground Zero, Times Square and the Empire State building were also considerations.

Help!! 20 of us are heading to New York, staying in Mahattan's theatre district, from the UK for a friends 40th birthday celebration. I am looking for a restaurant where we can get a buffet breakfast for 20 people on a Sat and Sun morning, maybe in a hotel restaurant or any other venue that we can book a large group into. I am also trying to book a dinner venue, for a Sunday night that again can cope with a group of 15 - 20. Dinner could be Italian or maybe a good steak house....any other suggestions would be great Both venues need to be mid price. Finally our group are all arriving in Manhattan at different times so I need a bar that we can all meet up at as we arrive on a Fri night. Nothing too noisy or crowded - but fun. Many thanks
I am bringing 48 girl scouts to New York the end of this month and am trying to locate a good deli that will provide us with box lunches for preferrably8 -10 each. Any suggestions? We are looking for a sandwich, cookie, chips, fruit or fruit snack & a soda or water.
Hi, I be in NYC next week and staying in E 70th area, think of getting a rental car for a day on Sunday to get out of town and may be do some sightseeing and shopping outside Manhattan. The rental rate is just too expansive, costing about US 80 - 110 for a 12 hrs rental. Anyone have any idea where can I get a lower and cheaper rental deal around the area. And I am interesed to get another car to go to Niagara Fall for the weekend, so can rented car be taken over to Canadian side of Niagara? Thanks for your response, Cheers. Regards
Hello! My husband and I are planning to take two of our grandchildren (2 & 6) to Manhatten in mid August. The 6 year old is obsessed with national landmarks and going to NYC is his dream come true. We live in rural Maine and not sure how to go about taking a trip to Manhatten. Is it better to stay in a motel in Manhatten or across the river in NJ? Are the tolls expensive going back and forth? I noticed motel prices were a lot cheaper in NJ. Should we bring our car or find another way to get around Manhatten? Subway and bus with small kids?? Any suggestions? The only things we really want to go see is the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Chrysler Tower and other famous buildings & Central Park Zoo. Thanks for your help. MainePatty
