I will be in Mangalore for 2-3 days and was looking forward to spending some time at the beach. Please suggest a good beach to spend a day or two. Thnx Ali
Mangalore has some good beaches. I am not very sure if there are resorts right on the beach, but the beaches are very good. I know of two beaches, in the city itself. One of them is called Ullal beach and the other one is called Karwar beach.

Hi, 1. Ullal beach, south of Mangalore (off the highway towards Kerala) at about 15-20kms from Mangalore. If you want to stay, try Summer Sands Beach resort in Ullal. 2. Panambur beach - This is 13kms north of Mangalore (off the highway, towards Udupi). 3. Surathkal beach - Further up north, 22kms, towards Udupi. Get down at KREC to enjoy their private beach. Excellent bus service available for all the three beaches). One more option to stay on the beach is PalmGroves beach resort near Padubidri, about 40kms from Mangalore towards Udupi. Finally, you may also want to try St. Mary's Island, off Udupi coast. Hope this helps.
