what to do in manchester at night with a child

I am visiting manchester on sunday/monday and would like to know if anyone has any ideas about what to do in the evening with a 10 year old? we are shopping during the day and i'm sure there will be lots of choice of places to eat, but was looking at ideas for the evening. I have thought about the cinema, but you can go to the cinema anywhere. If there is something good on at the IMAX i could consider that, but would like a choice. Any help would be appreicated Thank you
