Ladywell park and ride

Thinking of parking at ladywell tram station 8am saturday morning getting tram into centre for visit prior to Man city game at 5pm then returning to car after game. We are travelling from gloucestershire. Anyone got any advice on this idea. Is it a safe area ? Thks
