Low budged jungle lodges?

by vhoven Online Now Jul 4, 2009 at 6:10 PM

In August I will be traveling through the amazon by boat, and I am planning a stay of about a week near Manaus. The idea is find some lodging in the jungle basically. I have found many accomodations (lungle lodges) on the internet already, but most or all of them are too luxurious, big and expensive for my budget. All I'm looking for is just a place to sleep and eat, and the opportunity to see the jungle.

Could anyone give me some good advice in order to find a cheap and simple place? Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot!

    Hi
A few years ago I stayed one night at the Wild Cabana Logde (www.wildcabana.com).
I see you are travelling by boat and you can also explore the jungle around Manaus from smaller river boats and just sleeping in hammocks on the deck. I had a great experience with Brazilian Safaris (www.braziliansafaris.com). Sorry, don’t know the prices today.
    Kind regards,
    Klaus
