I would like to have an advise of somebody who came in this places at this time to know what is the best when I arrive to Delhi. First I thought to do like 2 weeks in each cities in the order I wrote just before but after reading different books or forum  I saw that  on the 3 rd week of June the moonson is very hard in Manali so I though I could take a plane in Delhi to arrive cloth to Manali in  begin of June and go done to Rishikesh in July. Some other website say the opposite ! Waiting for your advice Best regards

one can never tell how the weather will be and all these places are in the same area, Himachel. I would get the overnight train from Delhi to Chandrigahr then bus to Shimla. Shimla is nice but 2 weeks perhaps would be too long. Next stop would be Manali area, lots of hikes and many interesting place s to visit in the area. Rent a motorbike and explore the area. Never been to Rishakesh but as i say i would do Shimla first and if you didn't like it, it allows more time for the other places or even another destination such as Dharamsala!

If you intend to go by train to Shimla, you can take the Kalka Shatabdi train from Delhi and get off at Kalka.Shimla is roughly 80 kms from Kalka. You can either get your hotel to pick you up from Kalka or take the toy train to Shimla,it takes about 6 hours in the toy train to cover the journeybut if you fancy it you can think about it.Two weeks in Shimla you should visit Chail,Naldhera,Narkanda,Thanedar all of which are close to Shimla and are worth visiting.Shimla to Manali you can take a cab or a lkocal transport bus depending on your budget. You will need a cab to see the places in Shimla and around too.Shimla,Manali,Dharamshala,Dalhousie all are in the same circuit in Himanchal while Rishikesh is in Uttranchal.Rishikesh is also known as the yoga capital of India.Another important point to consider is that June is the peak tourist season in India and Manali,Shimla will be full of tourists.Book your hotels in advance, both the destinations have lots of staying options to suit every budget. From Manali you need to come back to Chandigarh and then proceed to Rishikesh.

June is the best time to go to Manali. Monsoons usually begin in July. I went to Manali in Feb early this with my husband and had a lovely time. Infact, this June there is a music festival also happening in Manali. Have you figured out where you'll stay? I stayed at Rock Manali Hotel (www.rockmanali.com) and had a fantastic experience there. You must check these guys out. They are located right next to River Beas and i even went on a picnic with my husband on the banks of the river. Have some great memories. Let me know if you need any more time.
