My boyfriend and I are going to Mammoth Cave as part of a road trip this fall. I see there are a lot of options for tours. Any suggestions? We're more interested in cave features & scenery not the historic stuff.
When I was there (a long time ago) I found the historic tour to be very good at pointing out features of the cave as well as the historic features in the cave. As they use (used?) torches (in keeping with the historic theme of the tour) rather than electric lights, the cave looks very different on that tour than any of the others. That tour also uses the only natural entrance to the cave, while a few of the other tours don't (or at least didn't).
