Nightlife in Malta

by Nicoleee Online Now Jun 4, 2012 at 1:54 AM

Hi everyone, I am going to St Julian's Island, in Malta pretty soon. I wanted to go to Sliema because I heard many good things about it, but my friends suggested me to try St Julian’s. Which one would you pick? Please consider that I am interested in the nightlife as well.

Hello, The truth about Malta’s islands is that you can easily travel from one to another. The distance between them is not outstanding. St Julian’s is like a continuation of Sliema and it is as developed as Sliema. There are three bays that offer entertainment opportunities. They are called Spinola Bay, Balluta Bay and St George’s Bay. Although it is an exotic destination, you can find there the Spinola Palace which is more than 350 years old.

Sliema has a couple of good hotels and Malta's biggest shopping mall, and it is also a starting point of many harbour and island cruises. Nightlife, in my opinion, is limited. There is much more action in St Julian's.

Unless perhaps somebody has dug a channel since I was last there, St. Julian's isn't an island! I suspect you may have misread "St. Julian's, Island of Malta": the island it is on being Malta itself. If nightlife is what you want, it is "better" than Sliema, being (as already mentioned) right next to Paceville.

You can find a good hotel either in Sliema or in St Julian's (next to each other) and then you can walk your way to Paceville for nightlife.
