Documenting Mali

Hello, My husband and I plan a trip to Mali, probably in October. I am a documentary photographer and would like to spend the time there doing something useful (beside taking nice travel photos). Can anyone recommend 'hot' subjects to consider? Does anyone know any organizations in need for help in the photography field? I am also interested in cultural issues beside social and humanitarian problems. Thanks to all of you, mujgabi
