I am going to a wedding in Malcesine on the 24th July 2012 Can anyone tell me the best way to get from Marco polo airport to Malcesine I arrive on the 20th July for 7 days or would it be easier to go to Venice for a couple of days then go to melcesine
Well, if you want to include Venice on your trip then it's entirely up to you. Otherwise, you can take the excellent ATVO bus from Marco Polo to Venice Piazzale Roma: atvo.it/index.php?lang=en&ar... Then either take the train to Verona and catch the Malcesine bus from there. Bus timetables here: tech.atv.verona.it/atv_www/o... Or take the train to Desenzano del Garda and take the ferry from there. Train times, details and fares in English here: trenitalia.com/homepage_en.h... No need to buy tickets in advance. Venice Santa Lucia station is right next to Piazzale Roma. Ticket machines have English language options and are very easy to use. They take chipped cards and cash (and give change). There is also a ticket office, of course.
