Hi. Considering the current situation, I would like to know if it is still safe to visit Malaysia? Our family is scheduled this April 2-8,2013 to visit Kuala Lumpur.
KL should have no problem, just peaceful protest. KL is a peace loving nation.

events will change by April 2-8 2013...keep a heads up on the news, but most KL people are peaceful.

Nothing happens in most part of Malaysia. The incident is in the east coast of Sabah Laha Dato , which is far away from most tourist sites and cities.

The only unsafe areas are Lahad Datu, Sempona, & other nearby areas. The rest of Malaysia is absolutely safe, including Sarawak. Plus April is some time away. Keep your updated from time to time.

I would think that it would be perfectly safe to visit mainland Malaysia, but perhaps avoid eastern Sabah until you see further developments. Maybe the troubles will all be over shortly but on the other hand , who knows!

There should not be any problem unless you were travelling to Borneo instead of peninsular Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur will be peaceful. You can check my KL page for things to do and some restaurants to try.

Malaysia is so beautiful that if you even have to take a little risk you should go ahead although there is nothing that dangerous if so just avoid those areas that's it. I went there last year with my family a loved KL, Langkawi and Genting hope to visit them again.
