Going to Hanoi this July. How's the weather at that time. Places to go.

As you can see by the link July is not only the hottest month but one of the wettest too, which makes it very humid. Many years ago i spent July and August in VN and still managed to have a good time despite the weather. And i might tell you that in that particular year there was not too much rain!

hot and humid. Lots of places to see and do if you stay in the "old quarter'. hotels relaively cheap and most things withing walking distance. Do take the time out to go to Halong Bay. Over night is great, a little pricey buy overall worth it. Try saigon (Ho Chi Min City) I found this better then Hanoi but you need to experience both. Hoi An is also woth a few days. Enjoy.

The weather is hot and humid and you need AC. taking the side trip to Halong Bay will be a relief from the busy city life and must be plan for a overnight to really enjoy the scenery. (4 hour drive), I would go on a tour and spend the night in the bay on a overnight cruise where you watch the sunset as well as sunrise on the bay. It cost a bit more, but you will not be rushed like cattle in a farm. 8 hours ride on a bus for the day is too much for me.
Hanoi has many places to go like the Old Quarter and Markets. Wine and dine at leisure, I think Vietnam has some of the best tasting foods in the Far East. Enjoy Vietnam, and thanks for the tips.
