Restaurants Please

I am looking for some good and inexpensive non-touristy restaurants ... our hotel is close to the River ... any good advice out there???

    Incontro in the Augustine Strasse is the best Italian in Mainz. Pomp and Helig Geist are the best two cafes - the later being in a wonderfully renovated medieval hospice. Bellpepper in the Hyatt is very good but expensive. At the other end of the market, the Lebonese in Emmeranstrasse has great cheap food and the owner will confirm your order in song. Guten Apetit!
