Ranger Lake, near NH. A short trip into upper NH would also be nice since you'll be close, maybe to Dixville Notch. Beautiful. That's where the first nation election in the country is held

Boothbay Harbor Maine is a popular eco-tourism family destination on Maine’s mid-Coast. The Boothbay Region includes several seaside communities and is culturally rich with the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, the Boothbay Region Land Trust and the Maine State Aquarium all located within the Boothbay Region. Boothbay features over 1,000 acres of preserved land with hiking trails, cross-country skiing, and prehistoric sites. See lobstermen, pick Maine blueberries, or explore the rugged coast with a kayak, windjammer or boat tour. Boothbay whale watching and puffin tours are popular too. Boothbay Region hotels and inns can be found oceanfront or nestled in the woods, and B&B’s in Boothbay are unique, many housed in historical locations. Campgrounds in Boothbay are available. Boothbay restaurants offer a wide selection of dining options.
