Boat charters in Maine?

Hi. My wife and daughter and I are planning on going to Maine in mid-September. I was wondering if we could/should charter a boat for a few nights. This way we can go to several islands and see Maine from a very different perspective. I searched online and found a few charters, but would like to get some advice and recommendations. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
