Hi there, can you tell me how I could get from the airport Barajas to Alcala, in the cheapest, easiest and fastest way?Is there a direct train or bus?
No. This is the way to do it: There isn't a direct connection between the airport and Alcalá de Henares, apart from taxis. The taxi ride will take you around 20 minutes if it is not rush hour and will cost you about 60 €. A cheaper option is to take the subway from the airport to Nuevos Ministerios (line 8) and then, transfer to line C-2 "Cercanías" (commuter trains) in the same station, that will take you to Alcalá de Henares. The subway ride will take you 15 minutes and the Cercanías journey 25 min. The frequency of the subway is 2-5 minutes and Cercanías 3-10 min. The fare of the whole trip won't be more than 7-8 €. (If you arrive later than 10 pm, frequencies are lower. The subway closes at 2 am)

well I do the trip by car, but the CTM Madrid interurban bus lines says line 223 takes you from ave America interchange to Alcala de Henares. ctm-madrid.es/servlet/RedTra... From the airport you take line 8 direction nuevos ministerios but stop at Mar de Cristal, there take line 4 direction Arguelles but stop at Avda de America, where is the bus terminal. you can trace at metro de madrid at metromadrid.es/en/viaja_en_m... You can also do all train - I don't recall if you leave from Chamartin or Atocha - just go to the "Cercanias" section of the station. Be on alert as Nuevos Ministerios is a favorite of pickpockets - although all metros share this notoriety.
