Stag weekend in June: recommendations?

by Fionnan Online Now Mar 13, 2012 at 12:21 PM

Hi, A group of us are going to Madrid for the June Bank Holiday weekend. Where would you recommend that we seek accommodation in Madrid? We are looking for good beer and plenty of Spanish culture and history? There will be some "poor students" coming too so affordable accommodation would be great. Thanks.

I think you should check out the Sol Hostel. Last time I was in Madrid our night was disturbed by people on a hen weekend. I can laugh now. :-)

check the hostals of Spain here from folks living there madridman.com/madridhostels.... you can find beer places there too. My favorites are away from tourist center like Los Timbales by Venta, and Docamar by plaza Quintana line 5 of metro both. in the tourist center, there are all over, you wont have a problem ::)

I used the tourist info place at the airport - if you are flying in, they are as good as anywhere else and extremely efficient. They ask how much you want to spend etc etc tell you how to get there, speak English. Very good service. I've had dirt cheap but acceptable, and medium priced and equally acceptable from them. There are also some at the railway stations too, providing the same service. That's how I have always found accommodation in Madrid. It's not a holiday in Spain so there should be no problems with finding somewhere.
