I am a solo female looking to do a little travelling in Madagascar from 1st November to 23rd. I have read through some of the other postings and have been in touch with madagascar-green-tours who have offered me a range of itinarys for my 3 week journey. The best one ends in ifaty beach where I am looking to have a beach holiday for just over 1 week. Can anyone advise of any comortable, safe beach accommodation (where I may get some company with likeminded people). Also how do I go about finding prices and booking flights back to Tana from Toliara on my return? May be a silly question, but with this in mind, how much money do you suggest I take with me? I would really appreciate some feedback if at all possible. Also any tips, comments, other info. Kind regards Laura
I would like to recommend you start from Antananarivo then drive to eastward to join Andasibe where you will find the largest lemur called Indri Indri then follow the National Road 7 step by step to reach Toliara , don’t forget to have train tour start from Fianarantsoa to Manakara then have excursion on Pangalane channel before you drive back to Ranomafana park then continue to Ranohira where you will visit Isalo park after long journey you will relax at Ifaty and Anakao beach , I think one week it’s enough for the both. We did this tour with an excellent freelance guide, we have unforgettable visit with his service and he could arrange your flight ticket back from Toliara to Tana he have worked together with Air Madagascar, so if you like to contact him about the price , this is his address:fihlusko07@hotmail.com; you could ask him more information. Good luck!!!!! Ken

Ifaty pronounced e -faut is really a nice beach area with very very poorest of poor. We stayed at the most lovely hotel Les Dunes. It was owned by some folks from Mauritius. It is very comfortable. I highly recommend flying back to Tana from Tulear. It is a long long way. It would be the only really reasonable way without adding significant time like a week to your trip or serious stress to your trip. Yes you can take taxi brousse to Tana but it will take a long time. Taxi brousse while cheap and adventurous is highly unpredictable and beyond smelly. Remember most towns in Mada have two or ther names. Toliara is Tulear. Lots of challenges. Especially if you do not speak good French. All challenges well worth it.

Hi, Last year, me and some friends of mine were in Madagascar for 15 days. We enjoyed very well the trip and we also finished our travel in Ifaty (beach for 2 days and it was largely enough for us). I think, 3 weeks of travel like yours will let you visit all range of landscape in this nice country. You ask a question about the money you should bring when you'll go there. In our case, the tour operator that we have chosen (www.tsiky-tour.com/en/) already planned all our trip (car + hotel + breakfast + lunch + diner all included). You only bring some money to pay your drinks and tips. So you'll have any problem and it's better for your safety. For flight, they can also book it for you. Best regards.

Hello, We planned also to go to Madagascar from October 26 to November 10 and we already booked with tsiky-tour.com People told something good about them on other websites I saw that's why I decided to discover the country with them. And nice to see here that others could spend good trip with too. I also was amazed how cheap their offer is. You pay money only when you come to the Madagascar and they don't ask any advance. Hope things all will be right.

If I may I would advise you to visit this website www.aina-madagascar.org, I spent time with them in 2008, they offer another way to discover madagascar, and to be in contact with locals and share their everyday life. feel free to contact them if this kind of travel suits you deepest thanks Kirsten
