    • How to get to Tagaytay via SLEX South - Filinvest Exit.

Las Pinas Jan 27, 2015 at 4:55 AM

      Hello everyone 

My name is Kristopher and I would kindly like to ask for anyone out there to send me a google map via share direction of Las Pinas, BF Resort Village going to Tagaytay, Sonia's Garden.

Because I check out the directions via Google Map on my smartphone and it seems they don't have the option to gps navigate through SLEX.

Me and my girlfriend is planning to visit at Sonia's garden this upcomming valentines day and so it's my first time driving alone going to Tagaytay and especially seeing Sonia's Garden on the spot.

Lastly, I Thank you all for the help !

There is lots of restaurant info for Puerto Princesa but not much for Sabang, near underground River. We will be at Daluyon for 2 nights. Thanks to member for mentioning the burger place on the beach!  Any other recommendations for safe/cheap eats?  We don't mind seafood, but not seafood lovers either.  Salamat!

    • where to stay

      Palawan Jan 25, 2015 at 8:32 PM

      Hello-
There are four of us going to Palawan in late April. We will be there for 5 nights and are planning on flying into El Nido and spending all of our time in that area. What are islands and beaches that can't be missed in the Bacuit Archipelago? I think we would like to spend 2 days relaxing on the beaches, and three days exploring a few islands.

Other ideas were to fly into Puerto Princessa and spend the night in Sabang to see the underground river and then head up to El Nido, but I know that one day would be all driving.

Thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated.
      Thanks!

First time on Cebu island, looking for best region to stay at

Cebu City Jan 7, 2015 at 8:37 AM

      Hi everyone!

Having spent the last two winters in Phuket/Thailand my wife and I are looking for something more "original" this time and with "beautiful beaches" being the key word we chose the Plilippines.
Planning on travelling to Cebu island for anywhere between 2-5 months in late 2015 (depending on the weather and visa requirements). We've got a winter to spend and we love sandy beaches and clear waters. Where would you guys suggest staying for this period of time? We'd like to have the opportunity of nearby island hopping, beautiful beaches within short distance etc.
What is an advisable way to find a decent apartment for long term rent over there?

Of course we'll visit places like El Nido, Boracay etc from Cebu but we'd like to have a base somewhere close to "civilisation" with a little shopping nearby, not such a "dead" place in the evenings... am I asking for too much? heheheh...

Thank in advance for the help!!

by PhilippineTourist Online Now Mar 2, 2007 at 3:43 PM

      Hey, guys.

I first thought of going to Cebu City for a vacation. But now I wonder if Mactan Island would be a nice choice too. I found SDR Mactan Apartments and it seems highly recommended. I don't have the link to the travel site where it got good ratings, but I was impressed by what I saw in the official site when I went there. The prices are very reasonable too. I like having my own kitchen and stuff especially.

Can anyone give me first-hand feedback about SDR and Mactan Island itself? What's there to see, what can you buy for souvenirs and what can you do?

    • Recommended accomodaton at Mactan Island

by fanchez Online Now Mar 23, 2006 at 11:48 PM

Am in between jobs at the moment and have a week left to go somewhere.
Have set my sights on Cebu Island. However, am undecided about the accomodation. Will be there from 28th March to 1st April so urgently need some recommendations.

      1) At the price of around USD 80, which accomodations would be recommended?
Have checked the rates for Maribago Bluewater, Cebu Beach Club, Tambuli Beach Club (East or West wing) and they r okay. Which ones are better?
Is it wort paying the additional price for a stay at Plantation Resort? It looks beautiful. Does anybody have a contact email/tel no. of Mari Cielo resort? Is that near the beach as well?

What I would like is a resort where the beach is just at your doorstep, if not within the resort compound. Something not too big and commercialised. Snorkelling facilities

      2) Any recommendations at Cebu City? Should I stay overnight at Cebu City or only make day trips in the city?

2a) Or should I use the city as a base and make day trips to neaby towns? Bohol? What other places?

Am a Catholic as well and would love to see the Catholic heritage of the city.
If possible, does anybody have the contact of a retreat centre where a 1 daY silent retreat can be planned at short notice?

      Thank you So much!

Since this is my first time to visit the Philippines, I've got some questions to ask: 1. Is it advisable to exchange foreign currency at Cebu's airport? 2. What is the tipping rate in Philippines? How much for the bellboy, etc.? 3. What are some must-sees in Cebu? Any available local tour operators for suggestions? 4. Any special souvenirs to bring back home? 5. What types of food can be found in Cebu? What are the typical prices? 6. Where are good snorkelling locations? Thanks! Regards, Vincent
