The plan is to go to macao and hit the venetian on a saturday night in july, leaving hkg around 8pm or so. Didn't know if I should go ahead and buy my return trip at the same time, i read somewhere that the ferries can get pretty full during the night--we are thinking about returning around 1am, as we have an 11am flight out of hkg to return home to the usa. Yes I know that is not much time, but just really want to see the venetian and the ruins, which we will take a taxi to. thanks.
We might be in Macao rather late, 9pm on a weekday, are there street vendors open then selling the pork chop bun? This is one of the main reasons we want to go to macau. We will even go to a non tourist place, as my husband speaks Portugese.
Planning too many trips at once, I meant St. Paul's facade on the last post!
Will just have a late evening look at Macau before our flight back to the USA (arrive from bkk at 5:45 pm, will hope to leave bags at airport hotel, then catch ferry to Macao for dinner, walking around, flight back home is at 11:30am next day). Since we probably won't get to Macao till about 9pm are souveniers shops still open? I am assuming I could get souveniers at the Venetian? Also is the facade at st James at accessible at that hour?

Hi,I am planning to visit Macao in November. There will be two of us going for 2 days and this is our first trip. Please help with the following: - suggest a good hotel (aroundAUD130) - things to do. - is 2 days enough? - a good souvnier shop (not very expensive)? - we are Australian Citizens, do we need a visa? - We will be going to Macao from Hong Kong. Is taking ferry a good option? Thanks in Advance
I'm going to Macao in November with my grandmother to visit my aunt. Unfortunately, they won't be able to tour me around as my aunt would have have just given birth by then, so I was wondering if you can refer a travel agency that offers heritage walks and tours for lonely travelers like me. A big plus would be agencies that don't require a minimum number of people in a group- I don't want to get charged a premium for the tour and would likely include me in a merry mix of tourists. I looked around and found out that their tourism authority suggests going to the Grayline travel agency. Anyone who has availed of a tour package with them? Are they any good? Anyone traveling to Macao on anytime between November 5-12 this year and would like to do a daytrip in HK, PM me. Maybe you'd like to "join forces" with me. Also, if you can suggest a DIY itinerary, that would be awesome. Love, Sandy, The Lonely Tourist

Hello VTers. Please help me with the planning for my prewedding photo shoot in Macao. Is The Guia Fortress open on Monday (15/5/11) for early morning Sunrise photo shoot? I understand that the chapel has operation hours, but does the fortress/light house out side area has opening hours as well? Is there any budget accomodation (backpacker std) in the area of The Ruin of St. Paul? I have got the contact for The Central Hotel(Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro no 264 e 270), but it is still a 20 minutes walk for the bride to the Ruin. My best regards...Justanto
