Hello. We are traveling to the Andre Rieu concert in July. Flying from Dublin with Ryanair.
Our accommodation is close to Vrijthof Square. Is there a bus we can travel on from the airport that will bring us close to the Vrijthof?
Thank you.

Hi, I have a English speaking job in Maastrict and I am moving in April. Just wanted to ask a few questions if anyone could be so kind as to answer
the 30 % rule a little confused by it, does that mean that it is my tax free allowance every mth and then taxed on the rest? what is the taxable percent on the rest of my mthly salary.
Also I want to live a little out of Maastrict, does anyone know any nice cheaper areas to live by there, dont mind travelling a little bit for work.
Finally, are there any private landlords that I could rent an apartment from all I can find online are agencies and the prices are really high for fees.
Thanks
Hi All We want to travel from Maastricht to Munich the most efficient way. Maastricht air fly direct but charge a lot of money. Another way I have been told is to go to Cologne fly Air Berlin. Anyone got any thought on the matter. If Cologne is the way to go do we bus it to Aachen then train to Cologne. Is the airport a long way from the train station? Anyway you get the drift of our plight. Any answer is much appreciated. Jack

I have been visiting Maastricht and the region every year for many years. Never had much issue with trains and busses at all. However I am reading that maybe buses and trains in some parts require a pre paid card. Can someone please clear this muddled mess up. If I land at Schipol can I just pay in Euro cash for a train ticket to Maastricht?

A bit of an awkward question but myself and some friends will be in Maastricht soon and two of the group want to visit coffeeshops. I am aware that Limburg was supposed to force coffeeshops to become members only as on the new year. Does anyone know if this is actually being enforced at this point. If so I will instruct the lads to visit Amsterdam shops before arriving in Maastricht.
Hi All! Me and my wife are planning to visit Maastricht this weekend for one day. But I am not aware of the attractions in/near the town. Can anyone let me know which are the must-sees there? I know of the Hell's Gate from the internet but am not sure which all other places are worth watching. Also are there any other towns/cities which can be seen which are nearby Maastricht?? Thanks for all your help! Travellingtechie!
Hey guys, I'm new here...so glad I found this page. I have a question with regards to the Maastrciht University student or just people living in Belgium/ Netherlands. I'm about to apply for a masters programme at the Maastricht University, but my boyfriend will be a student in Antwerpen. So, we wondered if there is any place we could live together and study, i.e place that is reasonably close and well- connected to both cities: Antwerpen and Maastricht. Am I right, that there is no direct train connection from Antwerp to Maastricht? Is car an option there? I would be grateful for any info, as we're seriously confused now, cheers X

After three successful meetings in 2003, 2005 and 2007 it is time for the 4th bi-annual Maastricht meeting. The date has been set for Saturday August 29. This meeting will be a culinary delight. Maastricht is known as a city where people enjoy life to the fullest, take things slowly and spend their evenings wining and dining. This weekend also hosts a culinary event Preuvenemint, where you can sample different dishes from many local restaurants. During the day we will also stop in a few shops, pubs, restaurants, bakeries etc, to sample some great local dishes, coffees, drinks, pies etc. There are beautiful pies at the Bishops? Mill, you can buy the best coffee at Blanche Dael, we could also make our own pies, have a tour through a wine cellar or visit a local brewery. Please let me know if you want to attend, or sign up at: meetings.virtualtourist.com/... See you in Maastricht !!!
I was in Maastricht in April and early May and uopn arrival at the train station I quickly noticed that all the trees that had lined Stationstraat were gone. However a few days later I needed to walk to the station amd I noticed that new trees had been planted. Does anyone on the board know why the old trees were removed? The entire area looked much different without the shade of the old trees
