I have not been to Lyon in a number of years, but when last there, I purchased a Guignol poster. I thought it listed the beginning of the art form to be 1858, which would make next year the 150th anniversary. Are ther any special events planned? We plan to be there the end of April - beginning of May. I would appreciate any help, including hotels and restaurants in addition to guignol -related events. Phil; e-mail is pramthun@hotmail.com. Yes, Lyon will be celebrating the "bicentenaire de Guignol" next year, but neither the city nor the Théâtre Le Guignol have given their programmes for 12 months' hence, it is not impossible that events won't start till after your visit.
