I'll be spending New Year's Eve in Germany and was planning to go to Dortmund. Are there any nice places to spend it? Clubs? Hotels? Also is it possible to travel back home to a nearby town early morning? How does the public transport run on that day? Is it better to maybe book a room in Dortmund itself?
I also thought that maybe other towns will be better than Dortmund, like Düsseldorf. I have read many Silvester offers online with party tickets ranging from 80-400 €. Should i get one of these or just go on the day?
Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you! :)

Can anyone in Germany recommend a German radio station which a) will be covering tonight's game at Wembley and b) broadcasts online - so that I can hear it on my laptop or tablet.

Arriving 5pm 21st Nov Thursday evening, leaving early on Monday. Our days are accounted for but wondering if there is anything to access in the evenings apart from restaurants and bars? We are staying at Park Inn by Radisson Köln Belfortstraße which I believe is a 15-minute walk north of Cologne’s Old Town? Any Christmas shopping markets?

A group of 6-8 teens and adults will be in Wittenberg Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We'll attend church services, but are wondering if any of the museums will be open on those days. I'm having difficulty finding information on closure days online, so any help would be appreciated. Also, will the Christmas market stalls be open on those days? Thanks!
I am looking for where to stay, restaurants, etc. in Wittenberg. I was there nearly 20 years ago though, things may have changed. My ancestor August Littmann Hoehne/Hone was born there, in 1817, I want to do some searching, can anyone advise where the City archive and Catholic church are located. All input is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Chuck
I am visiting the Lutherstadt Wittenberg with several families and am looking for a couple of cheap, clean holiday appartments in late May or early June.
