What is the easiest way to travel from Lugano to Oberwald; train or bus, please?
We are planning to fly Newark by Swiss airline. Our holt at Zurich airport is for 9 to 10 hours so is it possible to explore Zurich for few hours on arrival visa or any bus facility is there to explore Zurich city for few hours on arrival visa.
I have seen pictures and this hike looks amazing! But unfortunately I can't find a lot of information about the length or level of difficulty of the hike. Our time in Interlaken is very limited so I want to do as much of the planning now as I can so we don't waste any time. We will be there the first week in June.
I understand that there is a facility where you can check in your baggage one day in advance and get your boarding pass from selected Train Stations in Switzerland.
I along with my husband will be flying out from Zurich in June with Swiss Airlines. I wish to know what are the charges for advance check in facility. Charges are as per number of passengers or number of baggage.

We are going to stop at Montreux only 2 hours so we can not visit Chillon Castle but we would like to see it at least far away and take some photos. Which is the best place to do it without going up? Is it possible to see it from any place at the quai?

in some cities/towns I saw advertisements of photographers in the main streets. Does anyone know is there something like that in Interlaken? We would like to order a 1 hour photo session in that region. Do any agancies in Interlaken have such service?
I am trying to book a train ticket from Zurich to Interlaken however, the website is only giving me dates with no times. Can you buy a roundtrip ticket and use that ticket at whichever time you'd like?

We are travelling through Zurich on our way back from our Italian holiday. Reaching morning flight in second week jun, leaving 1245 hr the next day. Family of four with grown up daughter and 14 years old son. Need to stay for a day in a hotel, preferably offering free shuttle from and to airport, which could be a fun hanging out place for the children and us? And maybe some leisurely activity in the evening?

My wife and I and 2 daughters are planning to spend a few days in the Interlaken area, actually east near Meringen. I have seen that the cost for Jungfrau is really high. Any ideas on other places to see mountains and glaciers that is not to expensive? I saw some things to see around Brig.

I am a South African Citizen and will have a valid Schengen visa. I will be vacationing in Freiburg for 11 days ( 4-15 July 2013 ) and then will need to catch a flight out of Basel Mulhouse to Amsterdam. I will catch the train from Freiburg to the Basel Euro-airport and from the looks of it the train goes through Basel and therefore Switzerland - I will not have a swiss visa so will i be able to get to the airport?

We would like to go to Jungfrau on Saturday 1st June due to an special offer for Spanish people but with this offer is compulsary to make the reservation on-line and then print the tickets in paper (it is not possible to buy the tickets at the station).
We have contacted the hotel but they have told us it is not possible to do it at the hotel.
As weather predictions can vary a lot from one day to another, it is complicated to reserve it before leaving home.
So, could anybody inform us about if there is any place at Interlaken where we could book and print the tickets or how could we solve the problem?

Going to Lugano in June, and the best option seems a flight into Milan/Malpensa. Now I am wondering about the best way to get from the airport to Lugano, and back again. Are there any buses or trains that operate between the airport and Lugano? How about prices? Can I buy tickets in advance? Websites in English?

Hi, I am visiting Italy next week and there is an included day trip to Lugano. My question is should I get some swiss francs? Or do the Restaurants/cafes/shops accept euros? For just a single day trip I really do not know how much I would need? (Or if not to bother if they accept euros?) I would only need to buy lunch and a couple of beers/coffees! Hi, I will be travelling with my wife and kid from Lugano to Interlaken, stay there for 2 nights and then travel to Luzern, stay there for 2 nights, proceed to Zurich & Schaffhausen and return back to Lugano. My husband and I were planning to travel in early September from Lugano to Lucerne via train. We would be picking up a car rental in Lucerne. I am now wondering if we should pick up the car in Lugano and drive to the Interlaken area which we want to visit. (and not go to Lucerne. However, when I googled the map route, it appears that 99km are on an autobaun and 44 km seems to be a very twisty road. Has anyone done this trip and if so, how bad/good is it? We shall arrive to Lugano by bus from Malpensa ( Star )which is probably located on Saint way Gottardo 32 at the end of the train parking. Will it be possible to move with luggage to the TPL top station in order to reach the Albergo Acquarello hotel ?? As by E - map it seems very close ?? Can we use the TPL with luggage ?? Trying to decide which way to travel in June from Lugano to Lucarno? by bus or train? We will not have any kind of a train pass but would need to buy a one way. this one day journey will consist of an early morning ferry from Varena to Menaggio. bus to Lugano and then bus or train to Locarno where we will be able to rest our weary bones for two nights :-) traveling with aloha the coconut wireless
