Hi fellows, I am planning to go to Lübeck for a weekend in either November or December (for the Christmas Market). While I am there I would like to attend a classical concert of some sort (preferable a certain Mozart mass). I had hoped to go to a church concert, but a regular venue will also do. Can anyone help me with the calendar of events for various church concerts (or other venues) in Lübeck? I can't seem to find much specific info on the net.

This friday afternoon we will be arriving at Lubeck by car. We have booked a hotel in the historic center and they do have a parking lot, but we are questioning whether it is possible to drive all the way into the historic center a friday afternoon without beeing stuck for hours. Is it better to leave the car at the park and ride parkinglot and take the free shuttle to the center?

I will be tarvelling to Lubeck in next few weeks. I have a flight booking till Hamburg. I wanted to know the best means to reach Lubeck from Hamburg other than airways and their timing details. Thanks in advance

looking for the best way from lubeck airport to hamburg city ie trains/buses

I read somewhere that there are 2 seperate tariffs; DB Bahn's if you take a IC or EC train or SH's tariff if you use a local train. I want to take the local train. Is there a special ticket that I should ask for (so I don't get the fast train)? How much does the local train to Hamburg cost? Is there a special ticket where local transportation in Hamburg is included because I have to continue with bus to my final destination. I would really appreciate any help because I feel quite confused at the moment!

I want to get get from Lubek airport (Ryanair flight) on a sunday by train to Oldenberg - final destination is The Hof Oberlethe Centre 7.5 miles south of Oldenberg. Can anyone advise how accessible is the bus to train station in Lubek and onward to destination tnks

Hi together, some friends of mine and me, all from Hamburg, would like to go to the Ostsee one weekend and camp there one night. Preferably at the beach and NOT at a camp site. Is this possbile in your opinion? We know that it is not allowed, but it would still be nice to do it anyways. In other parts of the world noone would care ALTOUGH it is not allowed. This might be different here in Germany I guess. We'd just sit around in the dunes with a keg or case of beer and get the tents up around 1 hour before sunset and take them down again early in the morning. Has anyone done this before? Anyone been caught? We'd come by train and/or bus from Hamburg. Any recommendation where exactly at the Ostsee it might not be so crowded and therefore possible to do this from Saturday to Sunday one weekend? If all of you are strictly recommending NOT to do it, tell me. And which camp site/ where would you recommend then instead? Regards and Danke in advance, Phil

Does anyone know how to get to Travemunde from the airport at Lubeck via public transport?

My flight is only at 9a.m. and I am comming to Lubeck airport at midnight... 1.Does anybody know if Lubeck airport is opent all night? Here goes...our six-year-old is a Playmobil addict :))) I cannot blame her since I was the same when little as I grew up with German cousins. Their bigger stuff are sooo expensive in Sweden and the range not that good, so we try to buy when in Germany. However, there are no grand tours of Bavaria planned for now and my aunt in Wolfsburg who sometimes buys things on request to bring for holidays has no real toyshop in WOB, just WalMart etc. So, seeing as Lübeck is one of our nearest German cities and a world heritage at that, we thought we would make it a UNESCO Playmobil weekend sometime soon :) Can you lot just assure me that Lübeck has a typical German, i.e. good, toyshop? Something like Obletter in Bavarian cities...? Swedish and Danish toyshops are either just the same old boring Scando-nationals or specialised "wooden toy" shops. Help a six-year-old unite with her dream jet airplane with additional luggage van and security scan :)

I'm going from Lübeck to London on tuesday. Can anyone tell me how far (by car) the Lübeck airport approximately is from Hamburg, and if there's a parking fee if you leave your car there for a few days?

Next week we will make a cycle-tour in Germany starting in Buechen (near Luebeck) along the Alte Salzstrasse to Luebeck and then to the North along the Baltic Sea. According to the weather forecast, it will be pretty hot. Thats why we want to figure out what are the possibilities for swimming. In Holland many lakes and rivers are advised not to swim in these days, because of botulism (the water is too warm and toxic algues are growing). Does anyone know in what lakes and beaches the water is clean enough to swim in near Luebeck? Does anyone know if there are any nude beaches near Luebeck? Are there any campsites with a swimming pool or so? Thanks for any help!
