This friday afternoon we will be arriving at Lubeck by car. We have booked a hotel in the historic center and they do have a parking lot, but we are questioning whether it is possible to drive all the way into the historic center a friday afternoon without beeing stuck for hours. Is it better to leave the car at the park and ride parkinglot and take the free shuttle to the center?
this will depend very much on the place where your hotel is and if there will be a X-mas-market there maybe etc. In General Lübeck is surrounded by medieval walls and outside of them it is quite easy to find a parking-space. Maybe its the best to search for such a parking and walk to the hotel or take the local bus and then, later in the evening you get your car to the hotel

The hotel is on the southern part of the island. At Dankwartsgrube. I think that we have decided to leave the car outside the city walls and take a shuttle bus to the centre. We just have a little weekend bag to carry. Thank you for your reply.
