we love the Avadh cuisine and have several cookbooks devoted to it, but we live in the United States and cannot find some of the spices and special masalas called for. We will be travelling to Rajasthan next November with stays in Delhi as well, and we plan a side trip to Lucknow to enjoy its cuisine and perhaps find some of the unusual spices and mixes. Can anyone suggest where to look for these? Thanks for any suggestions.
Generally, spices are very easily available in any grocery store all over India. The best brands are Everest, MDH. However, some freshly prepared local ones are also good but it will be better for you to go for ready made ones.In hindi, spices are called as 'Masala'. Keep Smiling Vievk Dadu
